ODADA is proud to share a recent project, the restoration and reimagining of an iconic house by architect Bernard Maybeck. Working with the City of San Francisco, the design team, led by ODADA's David Oldroyd and Tom Kligerman of KAD, developed a sensitive approach to exterior restoration, balancing historical preservation with the needs of a young family today. Inside, the goal was to modernize the home while honoring its history and character. The commanding common spaces - vaulted and wood-clad - were refreshed; today, filled with contemporary furnishings and art, they feel bright, inviting. The rest of the house was transformed, as narrow rooms and passageways - a vestige from a previous century - gave way to a more open floor plan and an elegant interior architecture and design that prioritize flow and connection. Welcome to an Icon Renewed.
